Myth 2: Osteoporosis is Inevitable As You Age: There are many people who believe that they are going to develop osteoporosis as you age. This is not true. This is not true. A woman can have a healthy level of estrogen and still develop osteoporosis. What’s more, men can develop the condition as well. While a lack of estrogen is a cause of the condition, it isn’t the major cause.  

Myth 5: You Shouldn’t Worry About Osteoporosis Until Menopause: You can develop osteoporosis at any age. When you are in your 20’s, you achieve your peak bone mass. Some people start losing it quicker than others after this. For some women, it is genetics that causes early bone loss. For others, it is celiac disease, poor nutrition, use of steroid drugs, and irregular menstrual cycles. If you start having symptoms of osteoporosis before you reach menopause, you should get checked by a doctor.
