Take a deep breath, because what you read next might freak you out just a little bit.
There are 90 days left in 2014.
Ummm, say what?!
Yup, 90 days.
Well guess what? We still have 90 freaking days to be awesome in 2014. That’s still one-quarter of the year.
I’ve definitely fallen victim to coasting through the last part of the year.
I should get a gym pass. Well….maybe they’ll have a deal in January.
Yeah, I’d like to eat better, but Christmas is coming up, so maybe I’ll deal with it in January.
No one really works in December, do they?
All of these are so, so defeating.
Basically, I’m giving up one quarter of a year. Seriously, that’s completely ridiculous. And yet, we think it’s okay.
Thanks to her awesome post, I’ve set some goals/intentions for the last quarter of the year. Instead of waiting for 2015 to start, my life is now (thanks, Katie!) and I want to end 2014 on the highest note possible.
1. Stay focused on work
I do project based work and a lot of my deadlines are flexible. Sometimes this means I put things off because I can. I don’t want to start 2015 with work hanging over my head, so I’m committing to being completely focused on my work and getting things done ahead of schedule.
2. Continue to make healthy choices
A few weeks ago I noticed my pants were feeling a tad bit tight. I don’t regularly hop on the scale, but this time I did and I can’t say I liked what I saw. whomp whomp Since then I’ve been working to evaluate my food choices to make sure I’m making the best option for me.
With Halloween and Christmas coming up there will be a lot of opportunities to indulge in sugar and alcohol and I’m going to do my best to keep on track.
3. Keep on running
It’s no secret I had a bit of a rough summer with running and with Ragnar Las Vegas in a mere 5 weeks, it’s time to make sure I’m hitting the road and the trails to train my body.
I definitely plan on giving myself a break after, but I don’t want to stop entirely like I did with my 50k. Instead, I’ll add in gym classes and spin classes to keep my body moving, but to also give my poor running legs a bit of a break.
I don’t think any of these are all that earth shattering, but I think it’s helpful to take a step back and set goals or intentions every so often.
What do you want for the last 90 days of 2014?
