Today’s cause is near and dear to my heart, and mind.
Today is Bell Let’s Talk day.
I’ve blogged about this day before and am pretty open about my own struggle, but sadly, there are still a lot of people suffering, and a lot of people making judgements about mental health and what it is, and isn’t.
I applaud the way Bell is working to remove the stigma and help to raise money to for mental health initiatives (you can find out more here).
I truly believe the only way to help remove the stigma is to talk about it. And talk about it. And then talk about it some more.
When I first decided to chronicle my experience with anxiety, I questioned it. I was certain friends and family (and strangers) would judge me for it, but the positive response I’ve received has been worth it.
So, today, I’m going to ask that you help to raise money for mental health initiatives. And it won’t cost you a dime. I’m sure you Tweet and have Twitter, please add the hashtag #BellLetsTalk to the end of every tweet today. Every Tweet and reTweet with #BellLetsTalk will result in a $0.05 donation by Bell.
Tweet at your friends, celebrities, companies and ask them to Tweet and reTweet.
Seriously, let’s Tweet the sh-t out of #BellLetsTalk today.
If you want to do a little more, maybe write a post, tell your story, because your story matters. You matter. We all matter.
