five things friday where you can find out what’s been making me smile (or frown) this week
Every day this week has felt like the Friday before a long weekend, so now that we are here, Friday before a long weekend, I am pumped!
Bright and early tomorrow I’m hopping on a plane to Victoria to hang with my aunt and cousin (and very hopefully Bri!) for the long weekend! We’ll kick things off with some
running walking between wineries and sampling wine, and then enjoy a lovely catered dinner on Saturday. Plans are pretty up-in-the-air for the rest of the weekend, but top of my list are family time (I don’t see my aunt and cousin near often enough) and a visit with Bri and Indy (and Gus!).
Since travel is happening a lot over these next few weeks (this weekend: Victoria, mid-September: Ohio for work, early October: wedding in D.C.) I thought it would be fitting to share some of my favourites that make travel a breeze, especially for those short carry-on trips.
Pacifica Deodorant Wipes
Dang the liquid size restriction, right?! And is deodorant a liquid or a solid? I never know. Thankfully I discovered these amazing wipes and they help save my pits (and those around me) on trips!
I whipped these out in Vancouver and everyone commented on how good they smelled!
FAB Facial Radiance Pads
Since I’ll be sweating this weekend, I want to make sure my face is clean from gunk, and toner helps so much! Instead of wasting valuable liquid space with toner, these are pre-moistened (sorry for saying moist. Twice….) and are awesome! I want to use them all the time, but try to save them for travel only.
After a second ear infection this summer, I decided to give the ear bud style headphones a break, and ordered a pair of over-the-ear headphones from Amazon. So far they’ve been awesome for walks to and from work (though I do kind of feel like a dork) and I love headphones for listening to podcasts or audio-books while on a flight.
Depending on how I’m feeling, I’ll read, or listen to books on a flight. I finally had a new book I’m super excited for come in, and I’m hoping to get some quality reading time (okay, 90 minutes each way) done on my flights. Plus, it keeps me from needing to interact with strangers (the exception being the firefighter from SF who, sadly, I did not hear from again).
Yes, I wear leggings as pants. I refuse to apologize for it.
I much prefer to be comfortable when I’m jam-crammed into an airplane seat and leggings do the trick. Since I’m going from the airport to a run, I’ll be packing my run gear in my bag as flying in shorts doesn’t sound overly comfortable, so 7/8 leggings it is!
What are your travel must-haves?
