Look at the date.
Can you believe Christmas is a month away?!
I know some people count down like crazy when it comes to Christmas, but I’m the opposite. I’ll count down to vacations and holidays and the like, but Christmas? I let it sneak up on me and then I feel all lost and flustered because how the heck is Christmas so soon?!
If you’re wondering what to get the blogger in your life for Christmas, here’s what I’ve personally used, and love!
I moved over to Site Ground this summer and I couldn’t be happier. From now until Monday, they’re offering up to 70% off new hosting plans, so if you’ve been considering making the switch, I highly recommend it!
If you have questions, feel freee to shout them in the comments, or read my experience with the switch.
I only just purchased my Foldio and I’m already so, super pleased with it!
I definitely need to play with it some more to figure out composition and editing, but already my pictures have lost the terrible orange glow given off by overhead lights in the winter.
There’s even a green screen option where you can import images from your camera roll for the background. You’d better believe I’ll have fun playing with that this winter.
This year I’m working on cutting back on my blog-related expenses, mostly because I’m trying to cut back on all my expenses. CoSchedule is something I’m not sure I can give up.
I’m a visual person and seeing my posts laid out each week and month helps so much with my planning (and is probably why I haven’t been so great at posting over at Accounting for Bloggers – but stay tuned, I have some posts coming your way soon!).
Despite being a visual person, I absolutely love writing things down. I find I remember things better if I write them as opposed to making a note in my phone.
I carry one of these Moleskin Cahier’s in my purse. It’s small and compact and makes it easy to jot down post ideas, because, as I’ve learned, as much as I think I’ll remember an idea, I absolutely 100% do not.
Rachel is local, and that makes me even more excited to share her company!
Being an accountant means I am very much not a creative person, and after agonizing over Pinterest-friendly images, I finally signed up for HauteChocolate and I’m so glad I did! I love the new images each month and am blown away by Rachel’s creativity!
I’m obsessed with the prints I’ve downloaded (and have great intentions of printing, I…..just haven’t yet? Probably because I’m still working on my office/spare room. *sigh* I know) and I’m anxiously awaiting the release of the Mega Pack Volume 4.
The majority of the pictures on this blog are taken with my iPhone 6. I personally don’t believe you need to have a fancy DSLR in order to take good pictures. Also, if you are using a DSLR and 1) aren’t investing in quality lenses, and 2) only use it on auto, you’re better off saving some cash and buying the iPhone 7 (I reaaaaaaaally want the 7 Plus) or a mirrorless camera which also gives you the option to purchase additional lenses.
If you have a DSLR and want to learn, then I highly recommended signing up for a photography class.
Let’s face it, blog designs aren’t cheap, especially if you go the custom route.
Me? I’m cheap. All of the designs I’ve had I’ve purchased from Etsy and I’ve been unbelievably happy with them!
If you’re looking to spruce up your blog, and don’t feel the need to invest hundreds (or thousands) into a custom design, I highly recommend Studio Mommy Design on Etsy. I purchased my Cowgirl Runs and Accounting for Bloggers themes from April and she’s been super quick to answer any questions I’ve had.
And now looking at her themes I want to buy a new theme for Cowgirl Runs…..just because I can 🙂
Okay, so this is kiiiind of a shameless plug. However, accounting, taxes, keeping track of things can be really daunting and scary.
Remember, even if you make one measly dollar off your blog, the CRA expects for you to include this with your tax return. So, if you’ve made money and have no idea what to do – let me know!
As much as I’d love to answer everything for free, I can’t. Generic information will still be posted on Accounting for Bloggers and specific information will be charged on a case-by-case basis.
Have a quick question? Easy – shoot me an email and a response will come your way for $5. Yes, I’m serious. Just $5.
Want me to help file your taxes? Awesome! Rates will be on a case-by-case basis. (Help means I’ll walk you through things and teach you as we go).
Not into the help idea? That’s cool too! Again, rates will be on a case-by-case basis. If you’re interested, hit me up!Blogger gift guide featuring @CoSchedule @acctng4bloggers @SiteGround AND MORE #Christmas #blogging Click To Tweet
