You guys are all so sweet. Thank you so much for the kind and awesome comments on my post from Tuesday.
I’m in no way planning to leave blogland at all, I’m just trying to find my new normal and how I want everything to fit into my life. Also, my stepping back isn’t blog-related, at all. I know that sounds vague, but until I gather my thoughts and can coherently type a post, you’ll have to be okay with vague-blogging.
Now, I might be revisiting my posting schedule and a bunch of things over the next few months, but I certainly won’t disappear on you. I’m also working on (and by working on, I mean thinking about but haven’t done any work yet) Blog School, and I’m sure that will spark a ton of changes here as well.
Buuuuut! I do have something (okay, two, no THREE) fun planned today!
Then, after we’ve made ourselves presentable we’re heading to WineFest. Jen won tickets (she wins everything – she’s a good friend to have!) and invited me, and THEN we’re cabbing over to Leana’s where we’ll get to drink more wine! Because wine!
There’s a good chance a significant part of tomorrow will be spent on the couch….
And now, let’s get to it! I may have been MIA from posting, but I have been reading 🙂
Before you get too far into the links, there’s only one week left in my kick-ass giveaway from GoodLife Fitness, so be sure to enter! (you can see this post for all the details)
Small Change: Find Your Kryptonite <– mine is either my kitchen or my clothes. I always struggle with clothes, but my kitchen tells me I’m not doing that good of a job of keeping my shit together as I’d like to believe.
What I Ate Wednesday <– Ugh, you guys. I feel badly that this is the way link ups have gone. People sharing stuff that has NOTHING to do with what the link up is. I know Becky has struggled with this, and now Jen. A few weeks ago I linked up a mac and cheese recipe (and not a day of eats, because that seemed to be okay) and Jen sent me a really nice email about it. I appreciated it and thanked her and followed the her rules the next week. Because her link-up her rules. Linkups are amazing because we get to find new blogs and new readers can find us, but, her house, her rules and I’m sad that there seems to be this lack of respect going on.
10 Things You Should Give Up for Lent <– I can handle these.
14 Emojis Every Awkward Person Needs in Their Life <– because I’m awkward and I need these
If You’re Over 30 and Single, You Should be Using Tinder <— From the article:
To fall in love means you need to really know yourself, and be secure and happy enough that you want to share yourself with someone else, and to be vulnerable. Tinder doesn’t get rid of those steps, and it’s unrealistic to think that it would.
…I quickly learned that the only people who truly like dating — and by dating I mean the numbing dance of texting, and not hearing back, and then finally hearing back, and then making plans, and changing plans, and finally meeting and deciding within 30 seconds that this is not your Person, and then doing it all over again — are generally either sociopaths or masochists.
T-Rex Rantz: Blogging Edition <– while not directly related to my blogging break, I’ve been thinking a lot about the issues Danielle has brought up. Maybe I’m only just noticing these now, or maybe because blogging is getting bigger, more people are doing some not-so-great things. I’m not sure. But I do know I want to stay true to me, no matter what.
FYI Friday – Nutrient Requirements for Active People – Calcium & Vitamin D <– of course I’ve linked to Jen’s post, how could I not?!
Why I Don’t Like the Term ‘Mental Illness’ <– While I found this article interesting, I’m torn. I admit I have all of zero education in the realm of mental illness, save for suffering from anxiety, I’m just not certain I’m one of those “experienced events” people. While I can logically identify where my anxiety isn’t logical through CBT, it has zero effect on the physiological symptoms that rear, even without an identified trigger. Nonetheless, it’s an interesting read for sure.
20 Insane Things That Correlate With Each Other <– because critical thinking is important. Did you know that divorce rates in Maine are linked to the US per capita consumption of margarine?! (in case you missed it, that’s my sarcasm font…..)
To a Friend, on His Divorce <– oof.
How To Eat Healthy When All You Want is Cake <– because cake is freaking delicious
Since I’ve been MIA this week, I’m including a link-up today. Share with me your favourite post (written, read, or both!) so I can catch up.
Happy Saturday friends!
