Whoops! This was supposed to go live much earlier, but I had a late night and then go distracted setting myself up as a stylist with Stella & Dot (obviously run coaching isn’t enough!) so, better late than never, right?!
We made it to Saturday, friends!
Last night I went straight from work to barre, and then straight from barre to a friend’s house to look at Stella and Dot jewelry, drink wine, and catch up. I haven’t seen her in about a month, maybe two? and it was so nice to catch up.
This weekend I’m planning to keep on spring cleaning and get my house super clean! I’m planning to tackle my bedroom and my patio this weekend, and might even get to repainting the furniture I purchased last year.
Automatically Add An Author Box To Your Blog Posts <– I love this! I never knew it was so simple to do this! Seriously, Katy is a lifesaver with blog tips. What do you think of my author box?
Sole Proprietor Or Llc: Which Is Right For Your Business? <– I gave my recommendations for Canadian bloggers, so this is perfect for my American pals who are just starting out, or who want to make a change.
Avoiding Disappointment <– I can relate to this post so much (and just subscribed to the podcast!). When I’m talking to friends and they voice concerns about asking for something, my advice is usually, “The worst that can happen is they say no” and, honestly, that’s not so bad, is it? But, earlier this week, I let myself get disappointed over something I had absolutely no business being disappointed over. I made the situation all about me, when it wasn’t.
Blog Income Reports Revealed <– I can’t wait to read each and every one of these posts Katy has linked to. While, yes, blogging is a hobby, I’d love to find ways to make a bit more money to reinvest into the blog and hopefully result in some better content, reviews, and races.
You Don’t Have To Believe What You Think. <– I use similar thinking when I start feeling anxious and to help get myself out of an anxiety spiral. My thoughts tend to start with “something happened, that means I don’t have value” and end with “I’ll end up homeless in a box”. Obviously, none of those things are true.
The Pros And Cons Of Using An Instagram Robot <– seriously, don’t do it. Just. Don’t. Here’s a list of the comments that are definitely robot comments from the past week:
- This is cool
- Wow. Cool photo. (on a selfie)
- Amazing page
- We are currently seeking reps, check out our page (x3)
- Love it
- Amazing pic (on a collage)
- My Goodness!
Instagram bots – Just say no.
A letter to the New Voleé <– Oiselle opened up new spots this week, and I’m so excited to welcome Bri and so many others to the team!
A Few Bumps On The Road To Rio <– Natasha Wodak is an amazing professional runner in Canada, and seeing what she’s had to deal with over the past few months is insane.
Gait Retraining: Rehabilitating and Reducing the Recurrence of Running Specific Injuries <– since I’m now in a period of retraining, I’m trying to figure out what to expect. This is a fascinating summary of studies where runners changed their gait to reduce injury. My takeaway? I need a mirror to go in front of a treadmill while I run. I’m also really interested in this course from Runners Connect.
