Hello and happy Saturday!
I missed Link Love last week 🙁 I was exhausted come Friday and opted to crawl into bed at 9pm instead of organizing my links, so I hope you enjoy what I have in store for you this week.
What You Should Know About Your Blogger Friend <– loved this post!
Closing Comments (But Opening Up More Conversations) <– This is an older post from Katy, but felt timely. I currently have 150+ comments that I haven’t replied to. Some of them are over a month old. While I love conversing with people via comments and I love that it gives everyone opportunity to share and weigh-in, spending hours (probably?) catching up on comments maybe isn’t the best use of my time. I could spend that time to write one (or two!) posts instead. I think I might declare comment bankruptcy on the month-old ones 🙂
The Athlete I Was And The Athlete I Am <– I can relate to a lot of what Danielle talks about. I’m such a different athlete now than I was three years ago.
14 Ridiculously Useful Tips Every Blogger Should Know <– still working on that whole code thing…..Anyone know why WordPress has stopped emailing me comment notifications? *sigh*
The Team Mitocanada Records <– while I may have decided not to run the Calgary Marathon for personal races, I have to commend the race organizers for this amazing feat. Team Mito broke seven work records at the expo, including running 260km on a treadmill in 24 hours. When I was at the expo (hanging out at the Brooks book, NBD) the energy was palpable and they still had four more hours of running. It was amazing. Finally, you’re probably going to cry when reading this. I did.
More Fat & Protein, Less Carbs Helped Me Run a 2:37 Marathon! <– I find this so, so interesting. I love hearing about what elite runners eat and how they fuel their runs.

Lanni Marchant not likely to be allowed to run marathon in 2016 Rio Olympics <– I don’t even know what to say about this. It’s I can’t fathom why Athletics Canada would not name the current Canadian record holder to both the marathon and 10,000m team for Rio. Is it a lot of running? For sure, but Lanni has proven herself time and time again. I’m so heartbroken for her as I know, based upon her interviews, that the marathon is what she’s running for. Hell, she had a huge training run after winning the 10k road championships in Ottawa last week. What even.
The Company Behind The Viral ‘Organic Effect’ Video Is Getting Sued For Misleading The Public <– this can’t be that surprising, can it?!
Vermont City Marathon 2016 Recap – The Black Flag Affair <– I consider myself lucky that I’ve never had a race cancelled on me. In 2014 the MPLS Marathon was cancelled due to weather and in 2016 it was cancelled due to permitting, so the chances of it being cancelled in 2015 seem pretty high. I feel for everyone who ran Vermont last weekend and had to deal with putting in the miles only get to black flagged. Truly heartbreaking.
Embracing The Quiet Season <– blogging has a natural slow-down over the summer. I’m currently trying to decide if I may also reduce my schedule to give myself more time for me and time to product better content. And these tips?! FREAKING SPOT ON.
