This post is in no way sponsored or affiliated with Chefs Plate. I paid for the service and really enjoyed it and wanted to share it with you!
I find cooking and meal planning for one to be really difficult, and a pain in my butt. The constant deciding of “what to make” paired with what sounds good, gets exhausting.
I love cooking, and I love making healthy food, but the decision fatigue with deciding what to make each and every day is ridiculous.
Both Brie and Becky have used Chefs Plate, and I’ve heard great things from them, so I decided to try it out for myself! I was also able to save $33 off my order, so I didn’t feel like I was investing too much money into something I might not love.
However, I’m glad to say I did love it!Learn how @ChefsPlateCA can save you money and get 3 FREE plates with #3platesfromAnge #chefsplate Click To Tweet
I ordered the 2 person, 3 meal plan which comes to $65.70; however, I found I was able to get at least three servings out of each meal. Easily.
How it works
Your delivery days depend on your area, I was able to pick between Tuesday or Friday and picked Tuesday since my SPUD order comes on Fridays.
You can also skip weeks, since I’m traveling at the end of September, I’ve already skipped those days just in case I might forget.
Each week you’re given a selection of meals to choose from. The selections vary depending on if you’re on a 2-person or 4-person meal plan.
For my first order, I picked the Shrimp Linguine, Korean Steak Stir-Fry, and the Pearl Couscous and Goat Cheese.
I was super impressed with all three of the meals. They came together easily and all tasted delicious.
Today I’ll have the Seared Salmon, Pork Spring Roll Bowl, and Avocado and Black Bean Tostadas arriving at my door step and I cannot wait! I’m just not sure where to start!
What’s in the box?
I filmed my first order, so if you follow me on Snapchat or Instagram, you probably saw my unboxing.
Everything comes organized in paper bags, so I wasn’t sorting through ingredients to figure out what lives with what meal. The only items that are packed separate are the meats, and I very much appreciate my meat not being packaged with veggies.
Each recipe also comes with an easy to follow recipe card that details all of the ingredients and provides visual cooking instructions.
I took a few pictures of each of the meals I made, so I could share them, and expand a bit on my overall experience.
This was my first meal. It’s recommended to cook any seafood first so it stays fresh, and that’s exactly what I did.
I added two zucchini I had in my fridge from SPUD to increase the volume so I could take it for lunches; however, I probably didn’t need to do that.
Korean Steak Stir-Fry
A busier week than I anticipated meant I didn’t end up cooking this until Friday, and I actually ate 1/2 the leftovers for dinner last night. It was 100% just as good after hanging out in the fridge that it was on Friday.
My original plan was to eat it over the weekend, but my cold and stomach ailment meant I was only eating bland, simple carbs. Boo.
Pearl Couscous and Goat Cheese
Say hello to my lunches for 3 days this week!
This was easily divided into thirds and is totally delicious!
I’ll be feeding myself with my Chefs Plate orders until I leave for Hawaii (I just confirmed my September 7 order yesterday) and I’m sure I’ll be excited to resume it come October (I have a work trip the week after I get back from Hawaii).
I realize that $65.70 for 3 meals (6 servings) might sound pricey, but I was able to get 3 servings out of every meal, and it’s quick and easy to add extra veggies to make meals go a bit further. With 3 servings per meal, I’m paying $7.30 per serving, which is less than what I pay if I buy lunch and way less than if I buy dinner. I also don’t have any food waste because I’m not buying cans or jars of certain ingredients just to make a special meal.Learn how @ChefsPlateCA can save you money and get 3 FREE plates with #3platesfromAnge #chefsplate Click To Tweet
