Goooood morning friends!
Is anyone glad that March is juuuust about over with? I’m so excited that April starts this week. But let me tell you what I’m not excited for: April Fool’s Day. I hate it. Always have.
I probably hate it because I was basically the most gullible person ever as a kid, and even know I basically walk around in a state of paranoia until the end of the day.
The previous two weekends weren’t terribly awesome what with a DNS followed by a DNF, but with my new training plan and a physio appointment booked for this evening (and ALL THE SHOES) I’m feeling much more hopeful that I’ll be prepared and healthy at the start of my marathon.
Sunday – Off
Monday – Off
Tuesday – Off
Wednesday – Spin at OneCycle
Thursday – 5k run in my awesome new shoes
Friday – off; sick
Saturday –6k run in my awesome new shoes
Yuppers friends. I ran! And I loved every freaking second of it!
I decided since it was beautiful on Thursday and my leg/ankle had felt good for a few days that I’d take my HOKA’s out for a spin and see how I felt. I didn’t want to die!! WHEE!
I feel like I slacked a bit on strength training this week, I probably could have made an effort to fit it in, but sometimes I live in extremes. This week was the extreme of if I do any exercise I’ll die so I took a break.
I knew from past experience that spin didn’t bother my leg, so I hopped on my bike on Wednesday and left happy and drenched in sweat. If I’m not careful, spin could easily replace running in my life.
I also fought with my stomach over the weekend. Friday I woke up feeling ill, I felt 100% fine on Saturday (but decided to skip BODYPUMP to sleep in, just in case) and then felt sick again on Sunday. I’m feeling okay today, so I’m hopeful I’m done with this sickness.
How was your training week?
