A new week and time to be awesome 🙂
I may not have got in quite as many runs as my plan called for, but I’m feeling good about my physio and am really hoping I won’t have any issues finishing my marathon at the end of May. I’m trying to balance getting in my runs and being smart with my training, which is sometimes easier said than done.
Sunday – Sick 🙁
Monday – Off; physio
Tuesday – Strength workout C
Wednesday – Off
Thursday – Off
Friday – 4 miles @ 9:37 – my fastest average to date! and yin yoga at HotShop
Saturday –Spin at One Cycle and strength workout D
I also completed my hip and glute strengthening exercises as recommended by my physiotherapist each evening. Holy moly, could I ever feel it in my hips after the first few days! I think it’s pretty obvious they’re weak at heck and needed some work.
I had a bit of dilemma over the weekend as I had 10 miles on the calendar, but wasn’t supposed to run back-to-back days, so that meant I needed to move my run from Saturday to Sunday, but, it was supposed to be cold and maybe snowy on Sunday. Ew.
I stalked the hourly weather forecast (a runner’s best friend) and decided I’d woman up and get my 10 miles in mid-morning on Sunday.
It meant missing spin with my favourite instructor (Lauren is really the best!!) but I know I need to get some more miles under my belt in order to tackle this marathon!
Except I didn’t because the weather sucked balls, so back-to-back spin classes it was.
(Hi, blogger fail! I got home late and totally forgot to update my auto-scheduled post from Saturday. Hahahaha. Oops)
The rest of the weekend was spent installing a garburator, watching TV and cleaning. Not overly exciting, but it had been a while since I’d had a rather low-key weekend (and caught up on cleaning) that it was exactly what I needed!
Tell me about your weekend and training!
