Finding great resources for blogging can be a challenge. It’s taken me a lot of false starts and mistakes to find resources that I like enough to keep coming back to.
I never want to horde information, so I thought I’d kick off the week by sharing my three favourite resources for blogging and image creation.
I discovered Creative Market over my Christmas break when I downloaded a font bundle to use to to create my blog images. I was getting a bit bored with using the same fonts over and over, and wanted something that did a better job at representing me and was unique.
I’ve found the prices for fonts and backgrounds to be extremely reasonably priced, especially when you can find them bundled and on sale. Each week there are also six free downloads released every Monday.
A lot of the products are for Photoshop, which I’m not currently using, but fonts and backgrounds are easily imported into Canva for some stellar images.
Important note: make sure that you’re purchasing fonts and images that are licensed for commercial use if you’ve monetized your blog, especially if you plan on using them for any sponsored or review posts!
Finding great images for posts is super important, especially if you’re using Pinterest (do you follow me? you should!), but paying a crazy amount per image isn’t cool. Neither is taking images from Google.
What’s a blogger to do?
All three sites have great search functions, and will detail the license for each image, whether you’re able to edit the image, and if you need to credit the photographer.
Canva is by far my favourite tool to be used for graphic creation.
I admit I’m still learning how to use it, and how best to create great blog images, but since signing up for Canva for Work, I’ve been able to set my font, logo, and colours, so image creation is much faster!
