I’ve been an ambassador for SPUD Calgary since 2014. Whoa. Yeah. Hard to believe I’ve been having my groceries delivered in the most awesome way for two years.
I feel like I’ve really hopped on the life simplification bandwagon and SPUD really does help keep my life simple. I will, from time to time, still go to the grocery store, but the ease and convenience of not needing to drive and fight crowds is pretty freaking awesome.
Today I wanted to share some of my favourite products and offerings from SPUD as well as gift $40 of free groceries to a lucky winner (you need to live in an area SPUD services).
Weekly Staples Box
Regularly priced at $65, you can now get everything for $35. I received my first Weekly Staples Box after being gone on vacation and it was so nice to have everything I needed delivered in one convenient box.
I will say the only (minor) downside is that you aren’t able to customize the content in the box, so if you aren’t a dairy drinker, or don’t like something, you aren’t able to sub it out for something else. I don’t typically drink milk, but it was super easy to substitute in recipes, so nothing went to waste.
Fresh Harvest Box
SPUD also carries a fully customizable Fresh Harvest Box.
You can select from a $20 box (feeds one person for one week), $40 box (feeds 2 people for 1 week) or $60 box (feeds 4 people for one week). In addition to the size of the box, you can request your fruits and vegetables be only locally sourced, and you can substitute out the suggested items in the box.
I really like apples, but I have a bit of a sensory issue with some kinds of apple peel, so I prefer to buy my apples in-store so I can try and judge which items may or may not bug me.
This is a little bit more fun than the above fruits, veggies, eggs, and bread 😉
Owl’s Brew is a tea-based mix that you can use with alcoholic drinks. Friends, they’re uh-may-zing.
My current favourite is the Pink & Black with whiskey.
Each of the different brews are paired 2:1 mix to booze, and included recommended spirits (or wine, or beer) on the label.
Organic CocoWhip Coconut Whipped Topping
I……have a confession.
I like CoolWhip.
I know, I know.
So when I discovered a coconut oil version I was all over it.
Just do yourself a favour and order some right now!
Depending on the area you live, you can order freshly made products from local vendors.
I love having items on-hand when I need to quickly whip up some dinner, so I keep dumplings on-hand in the freezer.
If you don’t win the $40 to SPUD (enter below) and are interested in trying out SPUD for yourself, you can click this link to receive a credit on your first order (minimum purchase required).
