five things friday where you can find out what’s been making me smile (or frown) this week
Hello and happy Friday!
It’s been a looooong time since I’ve popped by here. I certainly didn’t mean to take 2.5 weeks off from blogging, but after my trip to Houston I was focused on organizing my condo (it’s done!) and relaxing before getting back in the swing of work and life. I’m also working on a super interesting work project which will keep me very busy for a few months, and may even include a few weekends of work, which I more than happy to do.
Enough rambling, here’s what I’ve been loving.
Almost three weeks ago, I purchased a road bike for myself. I loved my first triathlon and I’m working on a training plan for further tris and knew a road bike is a necessity if I’m to move to longer distances.
Today was a gorgeous day for a bike ride home from work! And, yes, im helmetless. I needed to pick my bike up from the bike shop and forgot my helmet at home this morning. I very nearly waited until i had a helmet because I never want to risk my brain; I've become quite attached to mine and I quite like it. So, wear a helmet, friends! #cowgirlruns
I’m still getting comfortable with with bike shoes and not falling, but I know that’ll come with time the more I’m able to ride.
Before I came to Houston, Leslie told me about an amazing curling iron. I was somewhat sceptical, but took her advice and purchased the Beachwaver for myself.
Guys?! This is hands down the absolute best curling iron EVER. I never curl my hair because it takes too freaking long, and this makes it so easy! Hello good hair days!
Trader Joe’s Snacks
I had a rather full suitcase of goodies from Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods when I came home from Houston. It didn’t take me long to crush this bag of Swedish Swimmers. So good!
Every year during Stampede I love to sample the new foods, and indulge in delicious fried goodness. I typically only attend for a day, sometimes two, so I don’t feel badly about sample some treats.
I’ll be back on Sunday and I’m excited to see what Laura and I find!
After a major reading lull, I’ve gone through four books in the past few weeks. I missed sharing for June and July, so stay tuned for a long list of books in August 🙂
What are you loving this week?
