Happy Friday, friends!
I can’t believe my week in Hawaii has come and gone so quickly. I’m glad to be back at home (for a mere 5 days), but I sure to miss the sun and sand. While I like the mountains, sometimes I think I’m meant to be by the beach.
Since today is Friday, and should be fun, here are two fun stories from my week away.
Strangers on a Plane
I briefly touched on my awesome flight from Calgary to San Francisco on Instagram, but didn’t much elaborate.
Since it was such a cool experience, I thought I’d finally get around to sharing it 🙂
The 10k That Wasn’t
So funny story.
Friday night Lindsay and I went to bed early-ish. She was tired from working, and I was tired from spending all day laying at the pool. At 11:15 Lindsay wakes me up from a dead sleep (I’d been asleep for all of 20 minutes) to inform me our 10k is actually on Saturday. Not Sunday.
We both registered for the race and no where during the registration process did it indicate the race was on Saturday.
After debating the merits of leaving her house in 5 hours to drive and maybe pick up bibs and maybe run, we opted for a 3k yog tomorrow and will have a pool day at the hotel tomorrow.
And drinks will be flowing at the luau since, oh right, we don’t need to wait up at 5:30 to run on Sunday.
And that’s the story of how I went to Maui to run a half, registered for the 10k, and didn’t run at all.
Hashtag: Only on Maui.
