five things friday where you can find out what’s been making me smile (or frown) this week
It’s time again for a post every 10 days (heh) and since it’s Friday, let’s chat about a few of my FAVE things, m’kay?!
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that last week I got my eyebrows microbladed. I was SUPER surprised with the number of questions I received about microblading, so, here’s what you should know.
Yes – it hurts. I used Emla to numb the area beforehand, but there’s some pinching and burning in some areas.
No – it’s not totally permanent. Depending on many many factors (skin type, healing, how much you sweat, etc), they can last anywhere from 12-36 months, but you will need to get them redone.
It took me a few days to get used to them, but recently I’ve come across a few photos of my old brows and daaaaang I like the new ones better!
It may surprise you to know I’ve only had one pumpkin spice latte so far. I actually prefer an Americano misto with one pump pumpkin because it’s not quite so sweet……I’ve also only had one of those 🙂
That said, I’m going to be on Columbus next week for work and you better believe I’ll be stocking up (I’ve also received a request from Becky) while I’m there.
Wednesday after work I had to make a stop at the market to buy cat food. I haaaate needing to battle rush hour traffic (see: why I walk to and from work) so I just picked up a few cans to hold the kitties over until the weekend.
Well, I spotted these amazing looking chocolates and it.was.over. I limited myself to two bars (I may buy more today!) and you guys, they’re so good! The squares are filled with PB on the PB one and it was all I could do to not eat two chocolate bars in one sitting. Oops?
Active Nation Day
If you happen to be in Calgary on September 24 and want to hang out, come join me at Active Nation Day; is a day created by Lorna Jane Clarkson, founder of Lorna Jane Active, always held the final Sunday of September every year, dedicated to inspire each other to move in a bid to fight the growing number of alarming health issues facing the world today.
Click here to register for your class ($5 with proceeds going to Jumpstart), we can even grab brunch after 🙂
On Saturday, Becky, Mary, and I saw Garth for the second time this year. It. Was. Awesome!
We kicked things off with visiting two new breweries in Calgary (you definitely need to check out Citizen Brewing), ate dinner at Anjeo (always the best margaritas!) and then it was time for GARTH! We had so much fun making friends with the people around us and standing and singing the whole time.
I really want to do it all over again.
Okay, so I don’t like rain, but with so many wildfires happening in my area of the world, I’m so glad to see some cooler temperatures and rain and am hoping they’re helping the first responders who are battling the fires.
It’s been heartbreaking to see people losing their homes, and a fire rip through a National Park.
The past few weeks have taken an emotional toll on me with all the disasters, and I’m hoping we’re past the worst of it.
Tell me – what are you loving this week?
