It’s been nearly two years since Jen and I ran about Calgary as part of GoodLife City Chase.
The great news is GoodLife City Chase is back in Calgary and I’ll be there! I was bummed to not participate last year, so being able to run about the city with Brie (it’ll be an extra bonus because I won’t have ran a marathon the week beforehand).
What is GoodLife City Chase?
GoodLife City Chase is billed as an urban adventure race. You solve clues and run all over the city completing tasks.
You might pull a bus
Go soccer bowling
While Jen and I might be runners, we certainly didn’t run everywhere. You can hop on the train, or take a bus, but you can’t drive, ride a bike, or borrow a skateboard 😉 Half the fun is trying to figure out how to move from check-point to check point throughout the day! We learned a lot and I’m hoping Brie and I might be able to better plan how we’re getting from point to point.
When is City Chase?
Calgary City Chase will be held June 3, 2017, but if you don’t live in Calgary, you can still participate!
Edmonton – June 10
Toronto #1 – June 24
Ottawa – July 8
Halifax – July 29
Toronto #2 – August 19
If you’re super competitive and end up winning, you can even score a chance to attend the City Chase Nationals. I know I won’t be winning, but I’ve heard some pretty epic stories that involve skydiving and the like!
How much does it cost?
If you register before May 21, the cost is $135 for a team of two, or $67.50 each. However, you can use COWGIRLRUN20 and save $20 off your City Chase team entry!
When you register, you can also fundraise for the GoodLife Kids Foundation. The GoodLife Kids Foundation raises funds to support national, provincial and local programs that provide ongoing physical activity opportunities for kids and remove some of the barriers currently holding children back from living a healthy life. I think we can all agree that a charity supporting physical activity and healthy life choices in children is a great thing. I’m a believer that my healthy childhood has helped me to continue leading a healthy life into a adulthood.
