Before I get into it, I’m going to warn you now, yes, I talk about Gilmore Girls. I do not spoil the last four words, but if you haven’t watched it (ahem, Jen) you might want to scroll super quickly past that part.
Currently looking forward to
The Bachelor starting in one month!
Just one month!
Yes, our viewing sessions are 60% talking, 20% making fun of things, and 20% watching, but isn’t that what it’s really all about?
I’ll admit I’m interested to see how Nick plays out as Bachelor, but moreso, I’m pumped for Here to Make Friends to return because I love that podcast.
Currently excited for
He announced he’s playing in Edmonton (a few hours from me) in February and I already have a hotel booked for the night.
I even made my dad reschedule when he’s visiting because GARTH BROOKS! Tickets go on sale next Friday and I can’t wait!
(I’m assuming his Edmonton ticket sales will be the same as other venues where he just keeps adding shows to meet the demand of people buying tickets – if not, I’ll cry)
Question is: who is coming with me?!?!
I was hoping Leslie would, but she’s apparently moving or something like that 😉
Currently bummed about
My blender breaking.
Tuesday morning the motor sounded weird and then it started smoking and that was it.
Thankfully I purchased it from Costco, so I’ll be making a return before the weekend. This is actually the second Blendtec that’s died on me in four years, so I’ll be crossing my fingers for a Boxing Day sale and might see if I have better luck with a Vitamix in the future.
I’m kind of bummed I’ll have to go without smoothies until then 🙁
The podcasts typically on rotation for me are:
- Bitch Sesh – if you’re a fellow Housewives lover, get on this.
- TED Radio Hour – because I love learning
- Here to Make Friends – come back to meeeeee!
This fall I’ve discovered (or, finally got around to listening) to some great ones:
- My Dad Wrote a Porno – it’s not as gross as it sounds? I mean, it’s kinda gross, but in a super crazy funny way.
- Hidden Brain – again with the learning. I highly recommended listening to episode 51 as it does an excellent job breaking down the US election in ways some people probably haven’t considered. The host, Shankar Vedantam, is ridiculously smart and finds the most interesting guests.
All things Gilmore Girls. I watched A Year in the Life over two days (mostly because I can’t stay up past 11 anymore) and I think I’m still processing the ending.
I definitely didn’t dislike it, and I also wasn’t surprised by it, I’m just….processing.
I honestly wish they had more time to tell the story. Parts of it felt rush, parts were dumb (WTF was that musical?! I love Sutton Foster, but really?!), and parts I adored (I’ll forever love the Life and Death Brigade). I’m definitely planning on watching it again, I just really hope this isn’t the end of Gilmore Girls.
Current guilty pleasure
I’m still obsessing over made for TV Christmas movies. Ever weekend I’ll pop the TV on W or Lifetime while going throughout my day.
I regret nothing.
What’s rocking your world this month?
