I feel like it’s been a while since I shared some true randomness (and this post is truly random) with y’all so here goes.
Alberta Blog Squad is a thing!
This is something Becky, Brie, and I have been talking about/working on for months and we finally announced it earlier this week. We’re so excited about the feedback we’ve received, and we’re so excited to share more!
Third Winter is here
Calgary has been very up and down this winter.
A week or so of super cold temps, back up to mild/warmer temps for a few weeks. We’re back in the cold (like, for-real cold) and I’m not a fan. It’s March! March is supposed to feel more spring-like than winter like. Our run club run on Tuesday was freezing and things aren’t looking much better for the weekend. Boo.
I’m drinking coffee again
I did give it up when I was sick. Tell tale sign I’m really unwell is having zero desire to drink coffee. When I returned to work this week I realized that even without coffee I wasn’t drinking a ton of water, so coffee really wasn’t the culprit. I am limiting my coffee intake and am working to make water more appealing so I stay hydrated.
I’ve had a really good week
My weekend was amazing, of course, and I’ve received some great feedback on a couple of my side projects that really boosted my spirits.
Takeaway: if you see someone being awesome, tell them! This is something I’m working hard to do in all aspects of my life. It’s take very little time to give some words of encouragement and they really can turn someones day around.
I’m a crazy cat lady
One of the gals in the run group drove me home on Tuesday (it was super cold and we’re only 2 blocks apart) and I found myself relaying Charlie stories on the drive. Yup, I’ve become that person who shares stories of her cat.
But also probably not.
How to make GIFs
For those of you who have asked how to make the GIFs I share in my posts, here ya go:
- Download Google Photos for your phone
- Take a burst of whatever you want to turn into a GIF
- Upload burst to Google Photos
- Wait for the Google wizards to do their magic
- Install Google Photos embed in WordPress
- Copy the share link and ta!da! you have a GIF in you post
I’ve also started using Google Photos for hosting my blog images because it helps with the load time and all of my images get backed up there already.
Your turn: share something random with me!
