Yesterday kicked off my birthday week – yay for birthday week!! 🙂
This past weekend was a little more stressful than I had originally anticipated so that affected my plan…Oops?
I’ve spent some time today reminding myself that I will finish and I will be okay.
|Monday||15km easy||12km easy|
|Tuesday||4×1.5 miles strong (since I missed this last week, I’m going to repeat it this week)||8.5km hills and speed work|
|Thursday||16k tempo||13km tempo|
|Friday||12k easy||4.56km easy|
|Sunday||30km long||3.12km 🙁|
Total planned mileage: 98km; actual 41km
Alrighty, so I’m going to break it down by day…….
Monday – I honestly don’t really remember my run on Monday, so it must have been a decent run 🙂
Tuesday – I had a kickass plan to incorporate speedwork and hills; however, the piece of bad watermelon didn’t agree with my stomach and I ended up calling it after half my distance.
Thursday – This run kicked freaking ass. Truly. I wasn’t certain if I’d be able to maintain my tempo pace, but I just kept going and I felt totally amazing after my run. Yay!!
Friday– As it seems to work – my shakeout run on Friday was rough. I ran as far as I could handle and then stopped.
Saturday – This is where my week went off the rails….Friday I couldn’t sleep. At all. I managed to fall asleep at 2am. My original plan was to run and then drive down to my mom’s, but I decided it would be more important to try and get a little more sleep. I didn’t get home until 8:30 and needed to grade some assignments, so I did that until nearly midnight and then I couldn’t sleep again. I’m not sure what exactly was causing the issue, but I started to get more and more stressed and worried, so it took me even longer to fall asleep. Hello struggle bus.
Sunday – I really should have listened to my body on Sunday, but I didn’t. I woke up with the start of what felt like a UTI and still decided to run after very little sleep. I should have known when I didn’t start running when I normally do for my warm that things may not go as planned….I made it 3km and just called it. I spent the remainder of the day marking assignments.
Here’s what week 16 looks like…
Instead of my normal table, I’m going to outline the runs I want to do this week and go from there:
- 20km easy/long
- 15km tempo
- 30km long run
- 12km speedwork
- 12km easy/recovery run
I spent this morning at the clinic getting antibiotics so I may or may not run this afternoon/evening depending on how I feel.
Right now, I’m about to enjoy a nap 🙂
Tell me: How was your weekend?
