Tomorrow morning, Oiselle is opening new spots on their running team. Last year this team was “The Flock” but there have been some (awesome!) changes and we now all run under the Volée name.
With new spots opening up, I thought I’d share a bit about why I run for Oiselle and why paying $100 to be part of a team doesn’t bother me (as I know there was some discussion on this last year).
Sally wrote a post on the Oiselle blog, but I’ll be expanding on that to share my experiences.
Do everything you can to be healthy and strong, and do so with grace. – Gabrielle Reece
Oiselle is a company run by women, designed by women, for women.
The women who are the face of Oiselle are true role models. The embody hard work, perseverance, grace, dignity and respect. They are the women I want to surround myself with.
From Kara Goucher speaking out about controversy and staying true to her, to Lauren Fleshman rocking it on a runway and showing us what a real women’s body looks like – the runners at Oiselle are real women.
I want to surround myself by women who push me to believe in myself, and challenge myself and be the best that I can be. These are the women who challenge me to be better.
I woke up at 7am to watch the NYC Marathon and cheered Kara the whole way and cried when she did her interview with Colt, all the while wearing my Oiselle Kara shirt (I’m only a bit of a fan girl).
Last SeaWheeze I was able to meet up with some Oiselle runners from south of the border for a photo-op before we were off to run.
When I was at Ragnar last year I saw someone in an Oiselle singlet, but forgot to holler and get a picture.
Our team may be all over, but I can run in nearly any race and find a team member.

We all run varying distances, at varying speeds, but at the end of the day, none of that really matters. We’re a team. We support one another. Sometimes it may be virtually, sometimes it may be in person, but we’re all there cheering one another on as we conquer our goals.
For that reason, I’m Volée and I’m so excited about the year to come!
