Friday is here!
And Happy Good Friday to those who have the day off 🙂
Last week on Thursday I commented to a coworker that I was looking forward to sleeping in on Friday….being today. Yes, I was looking forward to sleeping in 8 days in the future.
Now, I’ve actually
bullied convinced bribed Brie and Laura to hit up a double at the gym with me this morning (RPM followed by BodyPump) and then we’re going to brunch at Wurst, so sleeping in isn’t going to happen. It also may not happen tomorrow because I’m planning on watching Tina and Lanni run in the World Half Marathon Championships and coverage starts at 7:30am, but I will be nice and comfy on my couch with coffee ☕ (I’m told this is the link to live stream)
My workouts this week were roughly one million times better than last week.
I suppose that’s what happens when I actually go to the gym instead of skipping everything 😉
Since I ran fairly hard on Saturday (my watch told me I needed 71 hours to recover!) I opted for a rest day on Sunday, which included watching lots of Gilmore Girls and napping. #sorrynotsorry <– is that still a thing the kids say?
I also moved around some workouts this week – doubling up running and Pump on Monday (something I’ve modified my schedule to include every Monday), and taking a rest day on Wednesday (something I’m planning to do going forward as well) and Friday is going to be a killer day, but I’m really looking forward to it!
Since I’m doubling up on Friday I’ve decided to make Saturday a rest day and run my long run on Sunday. I also have a 90-minute massage tentatively scheduled for this evening (my therapist was sick this week, so if she feels better it’s happening) and I know I generally need a rest day after my massages because I’m pretty sure. It’s been two months since my last massage, so I have a feeling I’m definitely going to be sore after this one!
It probably seems like I change a lot within my plan, but I see my plan as a guide and I feel like I have sufficient experience and knowledge (hello two run coach certifications!) to know when I can and can’t move workouts around.
