Happy Monday, friends!
Yesterday afternoon I came home from an awesome weekend away. If you follow me on Instagram and Snapchat (cowgirlruns) you were treated to some of the sights, but be sure to stop by tomorrow for a full recap of my Alberta Adventure Girls weekend.
Last week when I recapped my workouts from the previous two weeks, I declared my goal was to workout every day this week. Well, let me tell you, that did not happen. Early in the week I was still fighting off my cough and cold, and just wasn’t feeling up to coughing my way through any classes, so I laid low and slept. Thankfully by Thursday, I was feeling well enough to get my butt in gear.
Monday – Bachelor girls night (I love that I finally organized and made this happen!)
Tuesday – sleep
Wednesday – sleep (I was so cranky I put myself to bed at 9pm…..after eating a TON of chocolate. Whoops)
Thursday – Barre + Core + Stretch at Barre Body Studio
Friday – nothing because Thursday night was stupid. I somehow managed to clog my sink, except the clog was NOT in a place where I could use Drano (because I tried) so after work I needed to go to Home Depot and buy sink unplugging things and by then I was OVER IT. (Actually, I was over it before the day started; however, apparently stopping my feet and crying does not unplug sinks). Beer me.
Saturday – 10km show shoe
Sunday – Yin Yoga and 1-hour hike
I think the weekend adventures made up for my lack of exercise early on in the week.
Last week taught me that I can’t merely fly by the seat of my pants when it comes to workouts. I do best if I have things scheduled in advance to give me some accountability.
Which leads me to my BIG announcement…..
Cowgirl Runs Coaching
After declaring over a year ago that I wanted to be a run coach, it’s finally true!!
In December, I passed the Revolution Running Certification (formerly Run-Fit Coach) and last weekend I coached Laura to her 5k race and am just finalizing submitting the information to complete my NAASFP Marathon Coach Certification.
And so, I’m so excited to say I’m now offering coaching services for sale.
[Tweet “What in the world could Ange’s BIG NEWS be? Come by and GET EXCITED! #runchat”]
You’ll notice that the only available programs (right now) are for one-on-one and customized training plans. I will also be offering pre-written, downloadable plans for 5k, 10k, half marathon and marathons for beginner, advanced, and intermediate runners.
I’m taking my time to make sure that I am fully happy with these plans before I launch them, but they are coming very, very soon.
Why pick Cowgirl Runs Coaching?
In addition to having two run coaching certifications, I also have 5 years experience in coaching swimming from my youth. I was a competitive swimmer for 12 years and spent 5 of those years coaching both speed swimming and synchronized swimming and was an NCCP Level 2 coach for both.
I believe coaching skills learned in my youth will translate well over into run coaching.
(Note that I am not, and probably won’t, coach swimming, but if any local friends would like to tips and pointers for cross training I am more than happy to set a pool date! Swimming is fantastic cross training for runners).
Since picking up running in 2010, I have completed 16 half marathons, 3 full marathons and 1 ultra-marathon with numerous other races in the mix.
I am constantly reading literature on physiology, different running methodology, and mental strength (at one point in my life I wanted to become a Sport Psychologist and have kept that interest) for athletes.
I will only be accepting a maximum of five one-on-one clients for any period. This will ensure you are able to get the attention you both require and deserve from me.
My goal is to create a program to make your goals successful. Whether you are working to run your first 5k, or PR in the marathon, your goals will become my goals.
I will take the opportunity to get to know you and will tailor my coaching to make you successful. I have an excellent post coming up on Friday that discusses the why behind different coaching options, and why different programs will work for different people.
You probably noticed above that my coaching programs are on sale!
That’s right. Until January 31, 2016, all currently listed programs have been marked down by 20%. On February 1, this will end.
If you have a race on the horizon and are looking for a custom training plan, or a coach the time to act is now.
If you’re considering coaching services and have additional questions, please send me an email and let’s talk about your goals!
